Morgan Lira & Ryan Ensor Set to Compete in 2k Steeplechase Friday

Morgan Lira at last year's national championship.
Morgan Lira first attempted the steeplechase last summer and took to it right away qualifying at the Regional meet to compete at the Junior Olympic national Championship in Sacramento where she finished 10th.  She will chase her personal best and school record of 7:58 from last year's Region meet this Friday in Stockton.

Joining her is Ryan Ensor who will make his debut in the event.  "The barriers make it more extreme," Ensor said of the Steeplechase.  "I have taken some pretty gnarly wipeouts at the skate park so there is no fear.  This just seems like a fun thing to do on the track."

The 2000 meter Steeplechase is scheduled for 3 pm at Delta College in Stockton.
