2011 Cross Country - Returning Varsity Boys

Ryan Ensor (Jr.)
First year runner Ryan Ensor set the pace for the Boys team finishing as the #1 runner in every race he ran last season.  Earning recognition on the team's all-time list for every course he ran in 2010, his fastest performances came in the second WCAL meet where he ran the 3 mile Shoreline course in 17:41 and followed that up at the Mt. Sac Invitational just two days later running 17:40.  He finished the season with a 26th place finish at the WCAL Championship where he finished the Crystal Springs course in 18:05, his best placing in WCAL competition of the 2010 season.

Dustin Laucella (Sr.)
Laucella will serve as the Team Captain for the 2011 season.  His determination and willingness to work hard is unmatched as he takes himself to his physical limit every race.  Dustin had a breakthrough track season last spring running personal bests in the 1600 and 3200 meters at the WCAL Championship.  He was the Iron Man on the track, often running 4 events at a time (1600, 800, 3200 and 4 x 400) for no other reason than he loves racing.  Last season at Shoreline he ran a time of 18:53 for 3 miles and finished as the Warriors #2 runner all season. His breakthrough came in 2009 where he improved over a minute at Crystal Springs and Toro, respectively.

Alex Ascencio (Jr.)
Alex ran impressive times on the track (nearly cracking the 5 minute barrier) and brings a tough attitude to the team this fall.  He ran an impressive 2:14 for 800 meters and 5:02 for 1600.  In 2010 Ascencio saw modest improvement and will be a key member to the future of the team.

Nick Staub (So.)
Nick is a first year runner who was bumped up to the Varsity team to help them in WCAL competition.  Improving rapidly through the season, Staub's top performance was at Mt. Sac where he finished as the team's #5 runner and showed potential for the future.

Update!  Some new recruits are reportedly coming out to join the team this year and expected to have immediate impact on this year's squad! Sean Davis, the school record holder at 800 (1:55), 1600 (4:21) and 3200 meters (9:59) will add power up front while talented first year runner Corey Bently will add some depth.  Rumor also has a few soccer players kicking around the idea of joining so stay tuned...
