Season Summary:
Kailey Eddy and Jessica Xu led the way this season earning All-CCS and All-WCAL honors, respectably, as the Valley Christian Girls Cross Country team qualified for their sixth state championship in eight years. They were joined by newcomer Sara Van Wagoner and veteran Ashley Lara who earned top marks this season. All four ran in the 19 min range over the 5k Woodward Park course this season, the most ever sub-20 min runners in program history. Karen Mac returned to form finishing with a mark of 20:30 while Nicole Favre, a 400 runner last spring burst onto the scene running in the 20's. This team boasted the fastest 4-5-6 runners in program history.
The team had strong showing in the junior varsity and frosh-soph levels as well. Megan Gillespie, Morgan Starkey, Maddie Hoover and Annie Yeh provided depth and leadership as upperclassman. Leia Wang and Vanessa Giacalone led a strong frosh-soph team as freshman Shannon Kovach and Maggie Theaker led the freshman
