Trofort Wins in Season Debut at K-Bell Invitational

Los Gatos, CA - It was a strong showing for the Warriors at the K-Bell Invitational, led by Nick Trofort winning the 100 meters in the fastest time in CCS this season. Trofort also anchored the 4x100 relay team that finished second in 44.07, a time that ranks #10 all-time in school history.

Deven Vanderbilt made it a Warrior sweep in the 100 meters winning the Frosh-Soph race in a personal best 11.64. The sophomore also finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 23.99. David Shao continues his strong start finishing sixth in the 100 meters in a season best 11.91. Vanderbilt and Shao, along with Seth Hoque and Presley Lara finished second in the 4x100 meter relay.

The girls also saw some outstanding performances on the day led by Emily Hidalgo who ran a personal best 13.39 in the 100 meters and 27.69 in the 200 meters. Skye Scott also dipped under 28 seconds finishing in 27.77.

The cooler temps and rain were not beneficial to fast sprint times but the distance events had no qualms. Freshman Will Luders broke the freshman team record for 3200 meters running 10:16. Noah Shinn ran near perfect splits to finish in 10:38 while Ben Kaestner finished in solid 11:19 leading much of the way in the second heat. The biggest improvement of the day came from Nate Moore who finished in 10:50 in the varsity race. His time bettered his previous best by more than a minute.

Seth Hoque won the Frosh-Soph boys triple jump with a mark of 40-5. Brant Baugher hit a personal best of 111-5 in the varsity boys discus.
