For 2012 graduate Morgan Lira it was her first race since the season opener for Morehead State and the adrenaline was a little too much to take as she took the race out at a blistering pace. Holding onto the lead through two miles the quick pace began to take it's toll. While she faded the later parts of the race Lira still held on to finish 15th earning a top all-time mark for the Eagles. "I went out in the lead by a bit and was like, 'wait, no one's with me...maybe I should chill a bit.' I should have taken it like Early Bird in high school and just went with it, but that's ok."
Sean Davis was also stellar this weekend as he competed in the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University at the Baylands in Sunnyvale. Davis was clicking on all cylinders running 25:25 for 8k. "It was much, much better." Davis said comparing his result this weekend to his debut at the Pac-10 Preview meet. "It still hurt but at least I was going fast. Cross Country is going to pay off big this track season!"
Also in action was Jennifer Bergman running for the #2 ranked Arizona Wildcats at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. Bergman finished 6k in a blistering 20:07 to help Arizona to a 3rd place finish in a loaded field that featured many of the top teams in the country.
Women Take Third, Lalang and Sambu With 1-2 Finish
The #2 ranked Wildcats finished 3rd at the Wisconsin Invitational, Bergman runs 20:07 for 6k.

Bruins Round Out Weekend With Strong Performance
Davis finishes 5th for the Bruins running 25:25 for 8k at the Bronco Invite.

Cross Country Teams Post Impressive Results at Fast Cats
Lira finished 15th at the Fast Cats Classic earning a top 20 all-time mark for the Eagles.
