Smallwood swept the sprint events at the West Catholic Athletic League track and field championships, ensuring an undefeated record against WCAL opponents in both of her events. Smallwood won the 100-meter dash in 12.32 seconds and took the 200 in 25.23. Smallwood is the No. 1 freshman in the Central Coast Section and the No. 6 freshman in the state in the 100 and hasn't lost to a CCS opponent. She is the sixth-ranked freshman in the state in the 200.
