University High School in San Francisco won their record 8th Division 5 State Championship at the California State Meet November 27th. The team was determined to do something special for their coach who had recently been diagnosed with ALS. For one runner that meant finishing the race!
Inspired by her Coach, University's top runner battled for victory. Running in third place, the runner hit the wall and later went down on the home stretch just steps from the finish line. Determined to finish she crawled across the line helping her team win the State Title. Watch this inspirational story from ABC news:
