Q: When did you start running? What inspired you to try cross country?

I started running in 6th grade on the Valley Christian Junior High team. Even though I was a 6th grader I was too tall to run in the C division (girls under 60" tall) so I ran on the 7th grade team. We won the championship that year and again in 7th and 8th grade. Last year as an 8th grader was the fourth straight year the Junior High team won the county championship!

Q: What was your first race? Describe you experience.

My first race was at Hellyer park in 6th grade. What I remember most is the huge number of geese at the park...and the goose poop was so gross. Another thing I remember s standing on the tables doing vcjh cheers with Amy as our team ran by in the other races.

Q: What do you like about running cross country?

The thing I love the most is the friends. It is hard to explain but I just like running cross country, I just find it fun.

Q: What are some of your favorite and/or toughest workouts?

Montgomery Hill! I LOVE hill repeats, they are my favorite even though it is hard to do at time. Quicksilver Park is tons of fun running with everyone. I like the lake part too.

Q: Favorites: xc race? xc course? Track race distance? Track meet?
Competitor(s)?

My favorite race was the Early Bird Invitational at Toro Park, it was really fun. I really enjoy competition. I like trying to beat my competitors in front of me, but my favorite is the person behind me.
