Valley Christian Hurdle Clinic Scheduled for Saturday!

The first annual Valley Christian Hurdle Clinic is scheduled to take place for team members this Saturday from 9-11 am at Warrior stadium.  Former collegiate coach Jim Meyer will be instructing athletes on hurdle technique, drills, starts and more. This clinic is for all levels from first time beginners to advanced athletes. As an athlete Meyer competed for Santa Cruz High School, where set the still-standing school and county records and qualified for the California State Meet in the 300 meter hurdles, and Azusa Pacific University where he was a 2-time All-American, running the 400m and 400m hurdles, and was a member of 2 national championship teams.

He was an assistant sprints/hurdles coach at Azusa Pacific University, and head coach at Northwest University and Bethany University. He also holds USATF Level-2 coaching certifications in the areas of Sprints/Hurdles/Relays and Endurance events, a Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification with the National Strength & Conditioning Assoc., and a Sports Performance Coach certification with USA Weightlifting. He currently works at the University of California Santa Cruz as a strength training instructor and the coordinator of the university’s fitness and wellness program.
