It was a strong showing from Valley Christian athletes in the CCS Trials last Saturday led by the 4x100 meter relay and Ronna Stone in the Shot Put, both qualifying for the CCS Finals.

The Warriors have been blessed with amazing athletes who have had some amazing performances at the CCS Finals. Due to the past success it can be easy to lose appreciation of how difficult it is to qualify for the CCS Finals. This sport lines up the eight best individuals and relay teams from over 125 schools spread geographically from King City & Carmel to San Francisco. There are no divisions, no votes, just the proven best.

Meet Highlights:
  • Ronna Stone had multiple throws over 37 feet but saved the best for last as her final throw vaulted her into the 4th place with a mark of 37’ 9.”
  • The Girls 4 x 100 meter relay team of Taylor Johnson, Shelby Smallwood, Mary Ellen Bradley and Robriana Johnson qualified for the finals with a time of 50.09.
  • Lydia Sum was battling sore calves all week but still managed to hit a solid mark of 35’ 6.75” to finish 11th.
  • Shelby Smallwood finished 12th in the 100 meters, running into a strong headwind she ran 12.88.
