KBell 2013 (83)
Jones runs to victory finishing in 23.34 seconds for 200 meters

Los Gatos, CA - Akil Jones sprinted away from the field at the K-Bell Invitational Saturday winning the Frosh-Soph 200 meters. The freshman finished in 23.34, well ahead of the closest competitor topping the 113 person field.  Jones' 200 meters is one of the top marks in California where he is currently ranked 4th amongst freshman.  His 4th place finish in the 100 meters earlier in the day also ranks him top 20 for freshman for the event.

A young group of sprinters also led the way for the girls team as well.  Freshman Taylor Johnson and Sonjalli Padalkar shined in the 100 meters for their debut race.  Johnson finished in 13.51, good for 21st in the Varsity Girls race but was third amongst Freshman.  Top performances also came from sophomores Priscilla Shing and Ali Mai, as well as Freshman Nicole Favre in the 400 meters.

The jumps were led by standouts Robriana Johnson and Lydia Sum.  Johnson led the way in the High Jump with a mark of 4-8 which was good enough for 8th place finish.  Sum was the top finisher for the Warriors in the triple jump finishing 10th with a mark of 32-8.
