WCAL Dual: Serra, Notre Dame @ Valley Christian

Valley Christian- It was Senior Day for the Warriors as they competed in their last home meet of the season against Serra and Notre Dame. The meet saw many great performances, including Theodore King extending his school record to 50-9 in the Shot Put.  Other solid performances came from the field events, Robriana Johnson and Elane Ma jumped 4-10 in the high jump (#3 all-time) in the girls high jump while Kristin Uda also moved into the top 10 all-time performers with a toss of 30 feet in the shot put.  Elane Ma moved into the top 10 all-time performances in the triple jump as well with a jump of 31-11.  She joins Lydia Sum and Robriana Johnson who also earned top 10 recognition this season.

Many great performances came from the track as well as Shelby Smallwood was a double winner taking the 100 & 200 meters as well as a part of the winning 4 x 100 meter relay team.  The JV girls 4 x 400 team set a season best, running the fastest JV time in over 5 years and Seniors Sean Davis and Isabel Garcia won their respective races in the 400 meters.  Davis won his race in 52.30, while Garcia set a season best of 63.15.

Other Meet Highlights:

• Ryan Severson took the 100 meters in 11.10, just 0.03 off of his all-time best mark!
• Kara Hinton became the newest member of the sub 6 min mile club running her first 1600 meters in 5:58.6!  She is the 7th Warrior to run sub 6 this spring, the most ever in school history.
• Karen Mac had a solid performance in her first race back since taking a spill in the 2 mile against Sacred Heart Cathedral.
