Alumni News: Bergman Paces Arizona to NCAA's!

Stanford Golf Course - Jennifer Bergman, a Junior at the University of Arizona (VC Class of 2009) has had a huge impact on the Wildcats squad since joining the team as a freshman and has quickly become one of the top runners in the nation.  Returning home to the Bay area to compete at the NCAA West Regional at the Stanford Golf course Bergman once again proved to be outstanding as she finished 6th helping Arizona to a second place finish which qualifies them for their 3rd straight Division I NCAA Championship.

Bergman has improved rapidly since attending Arizona propelling herself into the national spotlight last season when she hit the USATF "A" Standard at 10,000 meters, an Olympic Trials qualifying mark at the Stanford Invitational.  She followed that up with a 3rd place finish at the NCAA Championship earning All-American honors.

The NCAA Championships will be held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Indiana on Monday, November 21st. The women’s race will start approximately 9:58 am Pacific Time.

A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET, Monday, Nov. 21, on NCAA.com.  In addition, highlights from the championships will be included as part of the CBS NCAA Fall Seasonal Show scheduled to air on Sunday, Dec. 25, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET on CBS HD.
