A Photo-Journalistic Journey from the Dublin Distance Fiesta:

Photos by Ryan Ensor

The rain took a break for the 3200 meters!  Jessica Xu showed big time guts and went for it taking it out in in sub 6 for the first mile.  The second mile was tough but still managed a 13:07 for her debut!

Karen Mac (13:54) and Megan Gillespie (13:55) also debuted in the 3200 meters breaking through the 14 minute barrier!

Dustin Laucella showed us how to run the 3200 meters with a huge negative split running 5:45 for his last mile.

Proper pacing paid off as Laucella won his first track race with a 40 second PR finishing in 11:52, his first time under 12!

According to Facebook: "The Four Freshies - AKA Smallskies worst nightmare!"  I'd say more like a bad toothache.     :0)

Eyobed Mesfun gets it done in his first 3200 of the season breaking 11 minutes to finish in 10:56!

The rain was off and on and returned for the DMR.  The rain really hit on the drive home though!

Isabel Garcia was the lead-off runner for the Warriors in the girls DMR running the 1200 meters.

Shannon Luu took it out in the 400 and now knows what lactic acid is!

Emily Blaha made up about 50 meters in the 800 meters running a 2:28 split.

Down by 50-60 meters Morgan Lira goes to work.  Coach Small: "You have 4 laps to make up the difference."  300 meters into the race Lira caught the leaders running a 68 first lap.

Too much ground to make-up and the fast start left little in the tank for a final kick.  Finishing up in second place the Warriors run the #3 all-time time in school history.

The team is all smiles after a hard fought race and second place finish.

Thanking the Lord!

Girls DMR Team: Shannon Luu, Isabel Garcia, Emily Blaha and Morgan Lira.  3 of my 4 "worst nightmares" in the back!

Dustin Laucella and Shannon Luu take on a "Man Vs. Food" challenge of burger & animal fries.  This time, food won!
