Team News: Looking Ahead

The first annual XC Camp was four fun-filled days of running, swimming, zip-lines, blobbing, paintball and adventure. The camp served as a big momentum boost for the Warriors as the team enters the final phase of conditioning before the start of the season.

This season will be one of the most competitive CCS fields in the past 5 years and our team's success will depend upon the work we put in this summer. The girls are one of 6 very talented teams that will be fighting for a State berth, and the boys must rebound after graduating the top 3 runners from last season.

Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." To be successful this season it will take excellence from every member of our team. You must stay on top of your homework, family obligations, relationship with God, and your running. It means taking care of the little things like eating right, getting enough sleep and doing strength work and stretching. 99% of your competitors run, maybe more than you, maybe less. If you want to set yourself apart and be excellent you have to do the 1% they are unwilling to do.

Please check back often for team news, pictures and more. And if you haven’t already feel free to add “VC XC” as a friend on facebook.

As we look forward to an amazing season the challenge is to focus and work hard now. We have a short three months until the WCAL Championship, train hard.
