2007 Season Review

team picArticle from GoWarriors.net

Over 250 miles, 75 practices, 12 races, and countless aches and pains the VC3 season has come to an end. By all tangible measures, this has been the best ever. With stellar individual performances and historic team accomplishments, God has truly blessed our team.

We will deeply miss our seniors, Brett Kawanami, Tyler Seaman, Blake Cardoza, Daniel Hanna, Matt Meyer, Andrew Joy, Sean Kennedy, Kristen Houp and Morgan Celaya. They brought laughter and fun to our practices and a sense of history about our program. Although they will be missed our team has an exceedingly bright future. Of our top 7 boys and girls, 5 girls and 6 boys will return. So, the seniors are leaving a program in good hands.

Next years Junior Boys have the potential to turn around a program that has been languishing under the brutal competition that is the WCAL. A healthy Ian Karlsson, Dean Barron and Ford Merrick look to lead a team lead by Jordan Osuna and filled with talented runners like Will Pitman and Evan Kennedy, from the cellar of the league standings.

boys startOn the girls side we will return 5 of our top 7 runners including #2 Kendra Higgins and CCS champion Jennifer Bergman. With Freshman Lindsay Cole and Emily Blaha and sophomores Julie and Liz Wallace, a year older, and stronger, we have hopes to improve upon our CCS runner – up season.

We continue to plan for great things next year. Not only a return trip to Mount SAC, but also trips to the state meet for the boy’s team for the first time in history.

It is my earnest prayer that the athletes and there families were blessed by their experience. It has been my honor and privilege to be involved with such a group of young people. I look forward to what the Lord has in store for our future. 14 in 1 equals success.
